Can this Election Provide Knowledge of what Securities to use for Options Trades?

Yes, but actually it is your knowledge of what stock industries will benefit most depending on who becomes the 47th President of the United States that will help you most.
Each candidate represents a different congressional ‘party.’ You have the two primary groups which is the Republican and the Democratic Party.
Each party has their ideals, their priorities, and their beliefs as to what they deem best for this country.
Those beliefs establish for them what industries they will favor, help, and use to execute their policies.
Knowing which industries, the candidates favor and see helping them bests execute their vision for the country is where you can find opportunity.
Stocks in those favored industries is where potential gains of those stock can be found. Once I, myself, assess and determine which sectors and stocks in those sectors are going to have the best chance for gains that is where I focus my options trading.
Which Party Will Win the Presidency?
Depending on which poll you look at either one of them can win. Most of the info you see says it’s a toss-up. For me, I just want to be prepared regardless of who wins.
Should the Republican candidate win:
These are sectors that benefitted last time Donal Trump was in office and they may do so again should he win.
- Energy – XLE: The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund
- Aerospace and Defense – ITA: iShares U.S. Aerospace & Defense ETF
- Financials – XLF – The Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund
Should the Democrat candidate win
Harris served as VP, but based on her previous positions and the broader Democratic platform here are some sectors that may do well.
- Clean Energy and Renewable Resources – TAN: Invesco Solar ETF
- Electric Vehicles (EV’s) & Batteries: LIT: Global X Lithium & Battery Tech ETF
- Health Care – XLV: The Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund
One has the choice to either buy these securities or options on these ETF’s so long as they are optionable.
One can further research the holdings in these ETF’s by going to either www.etfdb.com, www.etf.com or even www.sectorspdr.com to get the breakdowns of each and find securities, search up if they are optionable and go from there.
I just produced a report called Unlocking Profits, which explains this insight on finding securities to trade based on the election results and it has 3 stocks that could do well regardless of who wins the Presidency.
