Stock Market Volatility may Continue with Apple, Inc. (AAPL) Earnings
4 times a year the markets go through what is considered “Earnings Season.” This is where publicly traded companies report what they earned on a price per share basis for the previous quarter. They also provide results on their quarterly revenue.
This causes price volatility in the stocks, their Industry/Sector, and the markets overall.
Two things that can Move a Stock Price During Earnings Season
Companies will often see a significant pop or drop in price based on a couple of things when they report their earnings.
One – the actual earnings and revenue number. Did it meet or beat expectations.
Two – forward looking guidance. Regardless of whether they meet or beat what does the next quarter or two (or rest of the year) look like.
